New week, New Shoes

Well, I say “new week” but it’s Wednesday already so we are actually approaching the end of the week but hey, we will go with it!

Last Saturday marked the day that Noah got his first ever pair of shoes…

We had been thinking about it for a while and had sought advice from lots of different people but in the end we just went with our “parent instinct”. Noah isn’t the type of boy to just sit down and be still and so when we are out and about now we find that he wants to crawl around, stand up and monkey himself around furniture and I just don’t like him doing that without anything on his feet – protecting them. Do not get me wrong, I know it’s good for babies to be bare foot because of the way their feet develop and they need to get used to walking and the feel of the ground beneath them but when we are out and about with him being so mobile I just don’t like it. Plus it keeps his feet nice and cosy when we are out on dog walks, etc.

We went to clarks and Noah found it very intriguing watching a young girl put a strange contraption on his foot – I don’t think he took his eyes off her the whole time. Cute.

Afterward we decided to make a trip down memory lane to test out his new shoes…we found a lovely play cafe called “The Wendy House” which happened to be around the corner from the apartment Andy and I rented when we were first married. It’s a lovely play cafe and had a great menu plus lots of toys for Noah to enjoy meaning that Andy and I could actually have a hot coffee together – winning!! I will certainly be returning!

It was also great to reminisce and go back to our old hang outs. Taking Noah there melted my heart. He was super cute walking around in his new shoes too.

Since the weekend, we have agreed on a lettings agent for our home whilst we are away and Andy has officially left HMS Diamond. We paid a visit to the ship last week to say “goodbye”. It’s a little bitter sweet really as Andy first found out he was going into Diamond the day after we found out we were pregnant with Noah and they have been so amazing all the way through the pregnancy and Noah’s life so far. We will miss it but I certainly won’t miss the time apart from Andy as he won’t be going to sea for a while – yey!!!

So, that’s another week nearly over and another week closer to the big move. I really should start to declutter the house in preparation but finding the motivation is tricky. Looks like it could be a busy few months in the Davey household.

That’s where we are at anyway. I hope that your week has been exciting too!

So I close my eyes to old ends and open my heart to new beginnings.
